- Individual Counseling -

Counseling services by Lori Copeland

Adults and teenagers come to counseling for many different reasons. Depression, anxiety, coping skills, family relationships, divorce, grief and life transitions are common issues that clients choose to focus on in therapy. Counseling is a partnership. Counselors work with clients to set goals and implement strategies to move toward achieving positive and enduring change. In-person sessions are recommended and most common. However, HIPPA-compliant teleconferencing is available for clients who cannot come into the office.

Play Therapy at Resilience Integrative Counseling

Play therapy is a wonderful tool to help children express themselves in a language they are comfortable with. The play therapy room is designed to be an environment where the counselor can help a young client to address feelings, practice new behaviors, and learn coping skills. The specific approach to play therapy will be guided by the treatment goals and developmental level of the client. Parents and caregivers are an important part of the therapy process. Training and Supervision

The play therapy supervision program is designed for licensed counselors and LPC Interns who are pursuing the Registered Play Therapist credential. Licensed counselors will participate in individual supervision sessions once or twice a month. LPC Interns who work with at least 3-5 children or adolescents each week at their internship site will meet weekly and receive both LPC and RPT supervision. Individual supervision sessions can be scheduled at the Resilience Integrative Counseling office or via HIPPA-Compliant teleconferencing. Group supervision will be held at the end of bi-monthly workshops and monthly at the RIC office.
If you are interested in supervision or would like be on the mailing list for the APT approved play therapy workshops, e-mail Lori Copeland at loric@resilienceic.com.

- Sand Tray Therapy -

Sand tray therapy is a method of expressive therapy that is effective with not only children, but also teens and adults. The sand tray techniques encourage the use of creativity for problem-solving and nonverbal processing of thoughts and feelings. The use of sand and miniatures activates a different way of thinking and allows individuals to visualize their life and goals in a powerful way. There is a growing body of research supporting the therapeutic benefits of sand tray therapy. At Resilience Integrative Counseling, sand tray therapy is offered to clients who are interested in including this experience in the comprehensive plan to reach their goals.
